Kathleen Haskard is in the US for a handful of dates to tie in with the American release of her album Don't Tell (Nine Mile). Produced by the legendary Chuck Prophet, Don't Tell has been widely acclaimed since it's release in the UK last year.

In the relaxed setting of Genghis Cohen, over on Fairfax and Melrose, Kathleen punctuated her solo acoustic set, drawn predominantly from Don't Tell, with pithy anecdotes and witty asides. I mean, really, that Keith Urban story... I have a more tenuous Keith Urban story, well more of a Nicole story really, and how I was fired from my last job for insisting upon a full breast exam after her nipple rings set off the security alarms at the LAX. I still feel a keen sense of injustice over that.

Meanwhile back at Gengis Cohen, Kathleen was busy taking back Pearl Necklaces for ladies... And if you weren't there, don't doubt it for a moment, for if anyone possesses the tunes to surmount that monumental challenge, then the incomparable Kathleen Haskard does. She's changing worlds with her songs.
