Marek Pytel

Marek Pytel pioneered and created the new 'Live Sound Cinema' with his company REALITYfilm. Studying under the early Soviet silent masters his premiere production, the original presentation of Jean Luc Godard's "Alphaville" was presented at London's IMAX screen, remixed by electronic music artists and incorporated the sampled bilingual dialogue and effects of the original film.

Since then, working uniquely for the big screen, Marek Pytel has produced longform video for the Aphex Twin, worked with master drummer and Miles Davis sideman Jack Dejohnette on the "Tribute To The Boxer Jack Johnson", toured with his live steresocopic 3D production of 50's cult movie "It Came from Outer Space", as well as producing regular shows at the Barbican, London's Royal Festival Hall and the National Film Theatre.

His shows have featured artists as diverse as Billy Childish, Acid Mothers Temple, award winning Tuvan throat singers Yat-Kha, Pere Ubu, and recently the outlandish pop art vision of William Klein's "Mister Freedom" performed live at the Queen Elizabeth Hall by Jimi Tenor and his Scandinavian Big Band. Marek Pytel is currently restoring Shostakovich's first and unrecorded work for cinema in its complete, original and unreleased form. "Dreams That Money Can Buy" performed by the Real Tuesday Weld was presented at the Turbine Hall of Tate Modern, London in May 2006.
