Sunday Xpress has long since been one of the most significant underground music events in the West Midlands never shying away from anything, harsh noise to trad folk, poetry, prose. It's a perfect booking regimen. Sunday Xpress is the perfect end of the weekend and can always be counted on for something a bit different to wind you into Monday.

Sunday Xpress is currently hosted at the really excellent Centrala gallery, down in Digbeth - the last one I attended was outdoors and the masks then, handy for keeping your face warm. Jay's preferred bike route from B Means Bearwood to D Means Digbeth, on the towpath, that's a bottom breaking story. Still the positive I can post is that this weekends' SundayXpress is being held indoors.

Alongside the music artists - The Retinal Circus, Tim Holehouse, RobinPlaysChords and Mutate/Hyaena Fierling, author Richard Bruce Clay will be reading from his most recent novel ‘Lydgate’.

The event will begin at 5pm and there'll be a short time open mic session. Performance times tbc but we aim to have everyone out by 10pm to get home.

Tickets are £4 in advance and £5 on the door, which at the price of a pint or a coffee and a posh bag of crisps is quite fair we think. Pre-booking will be available this week.

HELP OUTSIDELEFT

Outsideleft exists on a precarious no budget budget. We are interested in hearing from deep and deeper pocket types willing to underwrite our cultural vulture activity. We're not so interested in plastering your product all over our stories, but something more subtle and dignified for all parties concerned. Contact us and let's talk. [HELP OUTSIDELEFT]

WRITE FOR OUTSIDELEFT

If Outsideleft had arms they would always be wide open and welcoming to new writers and new ideas. If you've got something to say, something a small dank corner of the world needs to know about, a poem to publish, a book review, a short story, if you love music or the arts or anything else, write something about it and send it along. Of course we don't have anything as conformist as a budget here. But we'd love to see what you can do. Write for Outsideleft, do. [SUBMISSIONS FORM HERE]
