LAKESIDE LIVE
The Lakeside Live Summer Festival returns to the Walsall Arboretum on Sunday afternoon, August 4th. After a dismal, damp squib summer, if the weather holds up, Lakeside Live promises to be a lot of fun, with great music spread over two stages, and lots of concessions and stuff to keep you going all afternoon. Walsall Arboretum is a rural retreat at the heart of Walsall town centre. First opened in 1874, the Arboretum, now celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year, spans 170 acres and includes Hatherton Lake, the country park and the extension.  The site attracts over a million visitors a year, with people of all ages enjoying the park for recreation and the annual events.

The main Lakeside Live stage, Walsall’s mini hollywood bowl type thing, set against the the beautiful lake backdrop will feature All The Mad Men, Blind Eye, Me and Thee, Ancient Champion, Inareko, Nothing to Lose, Red by Night, Notion of Fortune, Nothing to Lose and Midnight Crossing.

On the Dogs stage, at the refreshment centre, more acoustic type acts will feature, including Joe Sheppard, Gaz and Adam, Meg Omen, Maxx England, Sarah Crook, Chris Compton, Jessie Desai, Clarke’s & Co and Alovera Walksofar.

The music begins at mid day on the main stage with All The Mad Men and finishes around six.

The council press release noted the return of Ancient Champion to the annual event. “From the electrifying rock music of Ancient Champion to the more soulful sounds, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Local talents from Walsall will also be showcased.”

Adrian Shaw from co-promoters Hunkypunk Promotions said, "It’s been a great year for Hunkypunk promotions, and it's perfect to be partnering with the Walsall council to end the summer in a huge way with my favourite event..."

HELP OUTSIDELEFT

Outsideleft exists on a precarious no budget budget. We are interested in hearing from deep and deeper pocket types willing to underwrite our cultural vulture activity. We're not so interested in plastering your product all over our stories, but something more subtle and dignified for all parties concerned. Contact us and let's talk. [HELP OUTSIDELEFT]

WRITE FOR OUTSIDELEFT

If Outsideleft had arms they would always be wide open and welcoming to new writers and new ideas. If you've got something to say, something a small dank corner of the world needs to know about, a poem to publish, a book review, a short story, if you love music or the arts or anything else, write something about it and send it along. Of course we don't have anything as conformist as a budget here. But we'd love to see what you can do. Write for Outsideleft, do. [SUBMISSIONS FORM HERE]
